My friend Genevre recently took up knitting and asked for help with a basic knitted hat pattern. I wrote this for her (love ya Gen!), and wanted to share it with all of you as well. This is just about the easiest hat you could ever knit, and it's a good foundation for more complicated hat patterns down the road as you get more familiar with decreases, color work, and pattern stitches. If you're new to circular needles, this is a great place to start. There are no frills, and no surprises, and the pattern includes sizes from infant to adult.

Too cute!
Thanks Carolyn!
Thank you for the download pattern--I've saved it to my "crafting ideas" folder!! I've been wanting to learn to knit for sometime but was afraid to start?! I crochet well and teaching myself a new pattern. I love how the yarn feels in the hands as you crochet! Don't you? Sounds crazy...must be a crafting thing, huh? Thanks for the idea!! I need all I can get.
Cool! Thanks for posting this.
Thank you so much! I can totally do this! I will post it when I am done. I am glad you told me about Fixation too, or an other brinds of supplies, when I bought all my stuff I was so overwhelmed with all the choices, and of course no store clerks were available to help...so thank you!
